Here are a series of photos I took in June 2023. The Bernina Express is a 145 km train journey from St. Moritz, Switzerland, to Tirano. Recognised as a UNESCO world heritage site, the journey takes in some fantastic scenery as it weaves its way through the Alps.

Como, located to the South of the lake, is a short train ride from Milan; its a picturesque town popular with tourists looking to explore the region. There are a range of private offering tours as well as ferry services shuttling people around the numerous villages and towns situated around the lakes edge. The trip I took was a public ferry from Como to Bellagio; a great way to spend a few hours taking in the majestic scenery as well as the architecture of the lakeside properties.

Rome, The Eternal City, has a history spanning 28 centuries. While Roman mythology dates the founding of Rome at around 753 BC, the site has been inhabited for much longer, making it one of the oldest continuously occupied cities in Europe. The smallest country in the world, The Vatican City is an independent country inside the city boundaries of Rome, the only existing example of a country within a city.

Venice is situated on a group of 118 small islands that are separated by canals and linked by over 400 bridges. With no road vehicles permitted Venice is a joy to explore by foot or water taxi.
The costumes and masks, seen in a number of the photos, are traditional attire of the Venice Carnival which was happening later that month.
