A short city break in May 2018 and a chance to explore Copenhagen for the first time. TI really enjoyed the simple activity of walking around and exploring by foot; diverse, historical, and picturesque. Highlights were spending time in Superkilen Park (urban landscape designed for inclusion), walking through a park of cherry blossoms, and exploring the waterfront and canals of the city.
May 2018 and a trip to Copenhagen. This gallery is an interwoven juxtaposition of 'marching and ceremony'.
On May 1st there is an annual 'ceremonial' parade through the city by a diverse range of groups including unions, activists, students, and protesters. I would characterize it as colorful, loud, boisterous, and overall friendly but with a touch of menace (my perception of a large group marching towards me, shouting, concealing identity with sunglasses and hoodies).
The following day I went to see the ceremonial changing of the guard; an opportunity to reflect on the similarities and differences in marching and ceremony.
